Julia, originally from Sweden, and Sam, hailing from England, embarked on a love story that began under the Spanish sun seven years ago. Their connection was immediate and unbreakable, leading Julia to move to the UK just three weeks after they met. As their lives together continued, they expanded their family by adopting their beloved dog, Ted, marking the beginning of many shared adventures.
Their engagement unfolded beautifully in Sweden on the picturesque shores where Julia grew up. On their sixth anniversary, the 24th of June, Sam proposed at her favourite seaside spot, setting the stage for their future together.
Choosing Montenegro: A Unique Destination
The search for the perfect wedding venue began almost immediately after their engagement, with Julia being the driving force behind the effort. Their quest led them to the enchanting landscapes of Montenegro—a country Julia had never heard of but instantly fell in love with. Its majestic mountains, stunning coastline, and lush nature captivated their hearts, and the uniqueness of the location promised a wedding like no other.
“We (I😂) started looking online right away and saw all these beautiful venues and they all said “Montenegro”. I had never heard of that country before but I just fell in love with it. The mountains, the sea, the nature.. and the fact that it’s not a place most people have been to made it feel more unique.”
Planning the Dream Wedding
With a desire for a short engagement, Julia flew to Montenegro just weeks after their engagement to meet with wedding planner Tamara Peric. The beauty of the country was even more breathtaking in person, and they didn't hesitate to book a venue that captured their hearts: the Heritage Grand Perast for the ceremony and Mudra Art in Kotor Bay for the reception.
I felt amazing in my dress, it really was the dress of my dreams. Big thanks to Sharif for exceeding my expectations. (and for making last minute adjustments!!😇).
