A Tailored Love Story
Ben and Marina first crossed paths in Exeter back in 2018, while Marina was on an exchange semester at the University of Exeter and Ben was beginning his PhD. What started as a brief meeting soon grew into a relationship strong enough to survive the challenges of long-distance love, with Marina completing her degree in Italy and Ben based in the UK. After periods spent apart, first in Oxford and then back in Exeter, the couple finally settled together.
Fast forward to their wedding plans, and Ben approached us in August 2024 to begin the search for his ideal wedding suit. Initially, he was set on a green suit, but as time went on, his vision evolved. After several styling appointments, Ben became enamoured with the idea of a rich claret-coloured suit.

While exploring cloth options, Ben and Marina discovered a fabric during a trip to Italy, which captured their hearts. Unsure of its details, but suspecting it was from the collection of Holland & Sherry swatches we'd shown them, they sent us a photo of the cloth. With a little investigative work and invaluable assistance from the Holland & Sherry team, we successfully sourced the exact fabric. Next came the lining—Ben chose two unique designs, both created by talented local artist Steven McCracken and produced by Harrison’s of Edinburgh. One lining for his jacket, another for his waistcoat; both complementing the suit perfectly.
Ben and Marina were married at the Bristol Registry Office, followed by a reception at The Forge in Bristol. Marina looked stunning in a Jesus Peiro dress, elegantly altered by Oui Cheri in Italy. Photographer Jon Clements captured their special day beautifully, instantly putting the couple at ease.
